OHS POLICIES

Monash Hire is conscious of all current Occupational Health and SAFETY laws and ensures they are followed by all employees. This includes:

  • SAFETY meetings are held monthly.
  • SAFETY refresher courses are done yearly.
  • Ensuring the customer is shown how to use all equipment.
  • Ensuring all speed limits on the roads are met and obeyed by.
  • Ensuring all drivers and yard man have EWP, EWPPA, and FL licenses.
  • Ensuring SAFETY instructions are given to each customer when they hire equipment.
  • Ensuring all drivers and yard man have all PPE with them to cater for all sorts of weather.
  • Ensuring the customer is given and signs the SAFETY Risk Assessment and SAFETY data sheet provided.
  • Ensuring all drivers and yard man have Red Cards for onsite and have been inducted before going on site.
  • Ensuring all equipment is secured to the vehicle as per the current Transport guide to loading and unloading.
  • Ensuring all drivers and yard man wear SAFETY boots, SAFETY vests, SAFETY hats and take SAFETY ear muffs and SAFTY glasses on with them to site.
  • Ensuring drivers are loading and unloading equipment appropriately as per the current Transport guide to loading and unloading. Example: With SAFETY Harnesses.

BRANCH RULES

Monash Hire also has strict branch rules for all employees which must be followed accordingly. All staff must ensure:

  • Work together as a team.
  • Their branch is neat and tidy.
  • Their appearance is neat and tidy.
  • All equipment and work stations are neat and tidy.
  • They are always willing to assist and provide prompt service.
  • Their manner is approachable, friendly, respectful and considerate.
  • They are honest and consistent with customers requirements & needs.
  • All goods are secured and SAFE when the customer leaves the premises.
  • Their phone manner is approachable, friendly, respectful and considerate.
  • Customers are shown how to use the equipment and given a SAFETY Alert Sheet.
  • Show customers we are committed to providing a quality service with quality equipment.
  • Customers are kept informed on new equipment and follow ups are provided where necessary.
  • Treat customers as you would wish to be treated, always greet them with a smile and friendly manner.

MONASH HIRE achieves and exceeds a level of Occupational Health and safety which is above and beyond legislative compliance- a full copy of our OH&S is available.We have meticulously developed OH&S management systems that effectively address the risks associated with all of our plant, equipment and staff placement. We take pride in our diverse range of plant and equipment, assessments are regularly undertaken to identify and evaluate the risk of accident and injury associated with each and every item.Our systems are structured so as clients are provided with as much instruction as practicable to understand the hazards associated with equipment and the protective and preventative measures which need to be implemented to further reduce the risk to health and safety during operation.

EWP, EWPAA & FORKLIFT TICKETS

MONASH HIRE also supplies all clients and staff with EWP and EWPAA tickets. We have a close relationship with Holmesglen Tafe where all our training is done at any of our branches with our equipment. Study time is provided weeks before the test and any questions or queries are also answered prior to assessment. This can also be done onsite when hiring from Monash Hire at no extra cost.
